Come and run with Xtreme Everest!

The Xtreme Everest team will be running in the Bournemouth Marathon again this year, with return runners Mike, Kay and David making appearance along with some new faces - more than ten of our friends and colleagues have agreed to join us in October already, covering every one of the distances on offer.

We are still looking for runners to join us over the weekend, you do not have to do the marathon, you could do 5K, 10K, or a half marathon, or just come along to shout encouragement. All distances are offered over the course of the Bournemouth Marathon Festival weekend - 3rd/4th October

The route is beautiful, with coastal views and the opportunity to run both the Boscombe and Bournemouth piers. The map does makes it look a bit complicated with lots of doubling back, but it is well marshalled so there is no chance of going wrong! It starts at a heady altitude of about 40m above sea level, and appears to end at sea level.

Last year we raised nearly £2000 for the Sherpas that have supported us over the last ten years we have been running research studies in Nepal.

Money raised this year will go to Sherpa Aid UK, who are assisting the Sherpas and their families who have been displaced or injured in the recent earthquakes. This charity was set up this year by our expedition partners Jagged Globe. Jagged Globe have committed to covering all administrative costs associated with the running of the charity so that all money raised will go to Nepal. You can read about the aims of the charity here We aim to set up a charity giving web page shortly to facilitate fundraising.

If you want to run with us, please get in touch. Thank you for all your support.
