Phase Worldwide thanks Xtreme Runners

As you know the Xtreme Everest team have been hard at work getting fit and running in the Bournemouth Marathon Festival to raise much needed funds for Phase Worldwide.

We are delighted that all our Xtreme Runners made it around their chosen course and have to date raised nearly £5,000 which is halfway to our £10,000 total. The money we have raised will go towards funding a health post in Humla region of Nepal for a year. Here access to basic healthcare is for some eight days walk away and sadly the most common cancer in women in Nepal is cervical, something that can be easily prevented by regular screening. Children in Nepal also die from easily treatable illnesses such as diarrhea, purely due to lack of suitable medicines and health awareness.

The whole of the Xtreme Everest team hope that the money they raise can go back to supporting these communities in Nepal, just as they have supported us in 2007 and 2013 for our two research expeditions. If you are able to donate (not matter how little) please do so by visiting our Virgin Money Giving page

It is hoped that in 2017 when we return for our anniversary celebrations we will be able to visit the health post and see in action the work of Phase Worldwide. In the meantime, we would like to thank Phase Worldwide for their support and coming to speak to our group about their work, and for the letter we received from them thanking us. You can read the letter here  Phase Worldwide - thank you letter.pdf (191 KB)
