It is Friday evening at the beginning of the Jubilee weekend, and I am tying up loose ends from a very busy week. Dr Dan Martin is still stuck in Lukla after his successful summit of Island Peak, as all planes have been grounded due to poor weather. I have met up with Dr Ned Gilbert at our Archway campus to finalise the equipment and disposables required for our summer pilot studies. We will be carrying out a series of studies with UK dwelling Sherpas and lowlanders in a hypoxic chamber.
Since returning from Nepal last Sunday, I have been delighted with the number of emails I have received from people who attended our five-year anniversary event on May 23rd. I was gutted not to have been there in person, but have seen lots of photos, and believe that a good time was had by all.
This new website has also attracted many compliments; thanks must be passed to the designer Jon Fuller, and also for plenty of input from Ali, Blanche and the Yaks. You know who you are.
Please keep revisiting the site regularly to keep up to date with developments. We will be formally releasing places for next year's research treks very soon. We will also be updating Twitter and Facebook with snippets related to our work. Please Like/Follow us to show your support.
Hope your Jubilee weekend is joyous.
