The morning sun creeps in through the thick frost on the inside of my window. I fling it open to see the first few rays dancing above the massive icy peak behind our lodge. The heavy snow overnight has been replaced with brilliant blue. It feels good to be here!
Namche is one of those impossible towns perched on the side of a steep mountain. It is probably the last place on the trail up to base camp that can be called comfortable. Good coffee, a bakery and those vital few shops provide everything you might need.
Somehow our lodge dreams up three unique carb loaded meals a day for us. The team are busy making the final preparations in the lab before trekkers arrive. Everything seems in place. Just time for a stroll amongst the boulders before the sun sets again.
