Food, Glorious Food!

Snacks

It is 11.30 in the morning and Jildou and I have been reviewing the state of the snack barrel at Namche. I have been obsessing about food recently, perhaps because one of our trekkers is a food writer and has been talking about the food in Nepal in great detail. We are trying to ensure that the snacks last the distance, but with so many hungry young investigators at both Namche and Everest base camp, things may get tight. Thankfully, there are a few bakeries in town, so we are able to stock up on calories when the testing schedule permits.

On another note, Jildou, Monty and I have been discussing our desired return home menus. Monty has a preference for anything containing sea food, Jildou has been discussing all sorts of options, and I rather fancy some very good Thai cuisine. I have been drooling over the thought of squid, prawns, and scallops, preferably with sweet chilli sauce or garlic.

I also think it might be good to go to an Italian and have a tricolore salad followed by fresh pasta with lots of green salad, and a very good bottle of wine, of course. Maybe followed by strawberry ice cream. Hmmm, I better change the subject otherwise the snack barrel may get raided at a faster rate!
