Dr Adam Sheperdigian

Adam Sheperdigian

Deputy Research Leader

A product of a UCL and CASE based education Adam has been an active participant of high-altitude research since his early years as a medical student. Now, as a newly qualified Junior Doctor he has decided to step-back form the normal foundation programme process to dedicate this coming year to ensuring the success of the Xtreme Everest 2 project. He has also obtained a clinical teaching position within UCL medical school and will be working throughout the year, from lectures to the bedside, at passing on his recently obtained skills to the next generation of medical students.

As an avid mountaineer, and frequenter of thin air he has always had an interest in the impact of hypoxia. During his intercalated year in physiology CASE cultured this interest into a passion, and he has since become an active member and investigator of subsequent CASE led projects, most notably acting as a core investigator on the Xtreme Alps 2010 expedition.

Away from the CASE office you are mostly likely to find him attempting a new rock climbing route or figuring a way to ski down highgate hill.
