I am losing the battle!

Yak feed with legs

I thought I was in the lead as far as training goes, but Mike went to the States for a holiday and has come back espousing the joys of running! He nonchalantly informed me that he ran 12 and a half miles at the weekend, and he found it enjoyable. He now aims to trot out 18 this coming weekend.

I, on the other hand, dragged myself along for 12 miles last weekend, wondering if the torture would ever end. I am planning to do 14 miles on Saturday, and am hoping that somehow the mid week training around Regents Park and the New Forest will somehow make it more bearable.

David has escaped to Africa to do some operating (a yearly commitment), and will be training in the heat and humidity. He also seems to be enjoying the challenge. I need to get into the zone and stop whinging. At least I am not having to work like the Sherpa in this photo. As I have said so many time before - onwards and upwards.

We are training to run the Bournemouth marathon. We want to raise money to fund our ongoing research related to improving outcomes for our critically ill patients. Please show your support by texting SFXE99 £2 to 70070 to support and the XE research, and the families of injured Sherpas that helped us carry out our research expeditions.
