Caudwell Xtreme Everest Trekking - 31st March

IMG_3749

The first Caudwell Xtreme Everest trek is set to leave London Heathrow this evening. On arrival in Kathmandu the trekkers, with their Jagged Globe leader, Paul, will be met by staff from the Summit Hotel. They will spend 36 hours in Kathmandu before flying to Lukla to start their trek to Everest base Camp.

It will take the trekkers 11 days to get to Everest Base Camp. The ascent profile is very conservative compared to most commercial treks. This is deliberate as the Caudwell Xtreme Everest team are interested in seeing how people adapt to low oxygen levels; not how they fail to adapt.

This group of trekkers will be followed by a further 12 groups of trekkers, each with a Jagged Globe leader. These groups of trekkers will follow the same conservative ascent profile. The Caudwell Xtreme Everest team are extremely grateful to all the trekkers involved in this project, and are looking forward to welcoming them all to Nepal.
