Iain Ruggles-Brise - Logistics Assistant

Iain is a recent graduate of Reading University where he studied Rural Resource Management for four years. He has joined the Logistics Team for Xtreme Everest 2 to help with tasks both in the UK and Nepal.

Iain is a keen sailor who has sailed in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Zeeland, the Baltic as well as extensively around the UK. Whilst at University, he competed in major sailing events such as the Royal Ocean Racing Club Round Britain and Ireland Race and Cowes Week (both for the Army). He has also organised sailing trips for up to 40 people and is a qualified Yachtmaster. In addition, Iain volunteers for a charity that teaches disadvantaged teenagers to sail in both UK and foreign waters. This charity takes kids from all walks of life and the learning curve for this public school boy is often very steep!

In addition to sailing, Iain is a keen cricketer and rifle shot. While at school he competed for the Great Britain Under 21 Rifle Team both at home and on tour. During his time at University he captained the University Shooting team and competed across the UK. He is also a proud member of his local village cricket team.

Iain is a practically minded person who enjoys the outdoors. Having only a limited experience of trekking he is keen to see the Himalayas and be a part of a very busy logistics team.
